We are an organization of skiers and snowboarders who believe that wintertime is the best time to explore the exciting and beautiful backcountry terrain of western Massachusetts. Whether looping gentle turns through abandoned farm meadows, or re-creating Dick Durrance's iconic runs down the Thunderbolt, we are all about getting outside to have fun, and being safe while respecting the natural environment.
We understand that access to the backcountry is not a right but a privilege, and that stewardship and protection of this valuable resource is a responsibility we share fundamental to backcountry recreation.
We respect the labor of those early champions of ski terrain in WMass, like the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and local ski clubs. We also honor the present and past communities of Indigenous People whose ancestral lands span these gorgeous rolling hills and steep slopes throughout WMass and southern New England that we enjoy so much.
